Welcome to our alluring new social column – think of it as a cross between good diary writing and the glittery party pages of once celebrated fashion magazines. It’s time to get back to good old fashioned journalism!
On the Buses, Call the Midwife and a Film About Tin Mining!
A girl can never have too many darling Little Black Dresses! Now comes the age of the slow luxe, organic LBD – and a behind the scenes peak of our Editor-in-Chief, Alison Jane Reid, with emerald actress, icon and star of the Call the Midwife, Spooks, Equus, and The Railway Children, et al, Jenny Agutter. Jenny adores the chameleon canvas of the LBD and declares, ” A little black dress will take you anywhere, it is never too much – I adore its classic, go anywhere personality.” We couldn’t agree more. Jenny is refreshingly down to earth for a national treasure, film goddess, and eternal sex symbol and adds, ” It’s just perfect for jumping on the bus to The Aldwych, en route for a night of ballet at The Royal Opera House.” We are sure her many admirers would adore to run into her on the No 9 bus, heading for the Aldwych!
Next week, Jenny starts the script read through for the new series of Call the Midwife.
