In the latest episode of Borneo Jungle Diaries, get set for a Pythonesque night to remember….They come in all shapes, colours and sizes! Snakes are much to be feared…or are they? Aaron Bertie Gekoski, our wildlife presenter, meets up with reptile expert Richard Burger, with the somewhat scary intention of capturing the largest python in the world! However not all is as glamorous as it sounds, as a rather rude python excretes waste all down Bertie’s front after being carefully snatched.
How Far Do Python’s Travel ?
Bertie and Richard succeed in finding three mighty reptiles on their night safari and bring them safely back to the lab to be studied. Installing a rice-sized microchip allows Burger to track the snakes he’s caught before, allowing him to see how much these particular creatures can travel and how large they can grow in a short space of time.
Fear not! The pythons are all returned to their habitats safe and sound after being analysed, giving them a fun anecdote to share with their slithery friends.
Fascinating Fact About Pythons
Fascinating Fact: The ligaments and tendons in a pythons mouth allow for extreme flexibility meaning they can swallow prey that is even bigger than them!
