Perfect Pressed Powder for English Rose Skin

If you have an English Rose complexion it can be next to impossible to find make up that will match your skin tone. Most foundations and face powders either make you look ghostly pale or tango orange.

One of the most powerful weapons in a woman’s make-up bag is pressed powder, it mattifies foundation and stops your t-zone looking shiny! If a pressed powder is good enough it can even replace liquid foundation as the go-to day time skin cover.  However, too much powder in the wrong colour can dull the complexion and highlight flaws.

This wonderful multi-tasking foundation and finishing powder from Green People will cover imperfections and still give you an healthy glow. The Honey Light colour is perfect for pale skin with pink undertones. This mineral powder look great on top of foundation and reduces shine instantly. Because this product is mineral based it can also be worn during the day as a light cover-up, it works best with a creamy face primer, but still covers spots and smaller flaws when applied to a bare face.

This products also lasts a long time, unlike other mineral powders, as only a little bit goes a long way. The only draw back is that it does not come with its own brush. A kabuki brush is the best tool for applying this powder.

This great little powder is SPF15 organic and costs £20.95. Other colours are available.

Ethical Hedonist Tip

If your skin has been less than perfect lately treat to some R&R.  Put a few drops of Tea Tree oil into a bowl of boiled water. Give the mixture time to settle. Place your face over the bowl and give your skin time for a relaxing steam. This will break down the dirt in your pores. Keep the heat on your face by covering your head and the bowl with a light towel. After 5-10 minutes clean your face with cleansing products to remove dirt and then splash it with cold water to close the pores. Do this once a week for noticeably clearer skin.
