March 21-April 20
An intriguing month as Venus and Mars join forces briefly in Virgo – raising the possibility of anything from a romantic fling to major love action – and Jupiter ends its retrograde, opening the door to your online holiday booking website if you think Thomas Cook is a dead duck. Jupiter represents all sorts of lovely expansive things: overseas travel, a new study course, immersion in a new philosophical study – or just a long hike in the great outdoors. August is a time to start something big which is new, bold and re-inventive.
April 21-May 21
A few hours after Jupiter ends its retrograde, Uranus starts its own, and this really is fascinating. Because for Taurus these shifts in direction (actually an optical illusion but that’s astrology for you) are deeply personal to you. The Uranus retro is likely to exaggerate some recent changes in your interests and personality: you are more likely to kick off, rebel, state your case and generally be quite delinquent. The Jupiter move direct encourages this straying into unknown territory because it’s necessary to break some old patterns of thinking if you are to make progress. So, enjoy this bumpy ride. It’s for your own good.
May 22-June 21
A month of contrasts – perfect for a restless, easily bored soul such as you. Up to 11 August you’re in a moody but relatively responsible state of mind, focusing on practicalities, money management and dodging any signs of trouble with deft scuttles. Them from the 11th to the 29th you become a lot more Trump-ish (as in Donald), advertising your genius to all and sundry, defending the needy from the big bad wolves, radiating a life-giving energy to those close to you and being quite noisy. Writers and speakers will enjoy this segment. From the 29th and into September, a practical matter regarding one’s home must be attended to – yes, this is the moment to sign a contract or break one, depending on the small print. It’s all go.
June 22-July 22
The New Moon on the 1st is a great start for finances over the first half of August, especially in relation to work life which is currently in the custody of Jupiter, the planet of growth. Something in your job is going terribly right, even if it feels wrong initially. This need not occur on the 1st. It might happen on the 12th or some other day to mid-month. The Full Moon in Aquarius on the 15th brings another money theme to your attention – this time, what you may owe to someone else. This need not be financial. It could be a debt of honour or the keeping of a promise. However, because life feels so sweet right now, you may be inclined to think that everything can be sorted out another day. You don’t want the hassle. The wise Cancerian will tackle this matter pronto. It’s a lot simpler than you may imagine.
July 23-August 23
Very powerful cosmic alignments are urging you to go hell-for-leather in pushing forward with a plan that could be playful, creative or expressive of a special gift you possess. The Leo New Moon on the 1st is sandwiched between Venus and Mars giving you the best of both worlds: devilish charm to win people over along; and extra thrust to push aside anyone who’s raining on your parade. At the best of times, Leos don’t lack for chutzpah – but just occasionally it is necessary to step up the self-promotion or the ambitious strike to break through a barrier of prejudice or inertia. You can do it.
August 24-September 22
Domestic plans may have been put on hold in recent weeks as other events grabbed your attention. But Jupiter’s move direct in August sees a return to the themes of home and family – and what you discover will encourage you to go into expansive mode, such as contemplating a residential move or major refurbishment. For some, there will be a growing awareness that the current shelter has outgrown its usefulness. You’re thinking and living bigger. But for now, you’d be wise not to share your thoughts with anyone. Private is private.
September 23-October 23
Even as the home area preoccupies you still in the wake of the heavy Saturn-Pluto conjunction, life goes on – it must. For much of August, you’re continuing to engage with like-minded people, furthering connections and laying foundations for new business or campaign work which will pay dividends later. Meantime, the Jupiter move direct in your chart house of communications and sales will lift the veil that has of late settled over certain plans. It will become clearer to you as this month progresses what must be done next to maximise your reach to clients/customers/friends and how to go about converting alliances into money-making ventures. Jupiter is here up to December, so you have some time yet to refine your strategies.
October 23-November 22
July will have been frustrating – face it. Life appeared to be tantalising you with career and financial possibilities, and then what seemed like an opportunity evaporated before your eyes. August is more the business. Powerful links between career and income houses start to work in your favour – how this manifests precisely remains to be seen, but make sure eyes are kept open because opportunity now is real. The Jupiter move direct in your chart house of income and assets is a strong indicator of potential growth in your worth. The main risk with Jupiter is exaggerating talent or potential. Stay practical and reasonably self-critical – and you can’t fail.
November 23-December 21
There is time left to make a big move in your life – to move overseas, enrol on a study course, start litigation or apply to do something which in the past you would not even have contemplated, provided it’s what you really want to do. Ruler Jupiter ends its retrograde on 11th August auguring a time of exciting possibilities – the constructive energies are so potent because the planet remains in your sign, Sagittarius, the sign that it rules. For much of the rest of the year, and at any moment, a chance to break out of a routine or any kind of stultifying situation or relationship will present itself. Be ready.
December 22-January 20
Forever practical as you are, the astrological skies see that a rest from literalism would do you the world of good. This is not as complicated as it sounds. Popping into a cinema one afternoon to watch a new movie release you’ve meant to catch is a way of engaging the lyrical or spiritual side of your mind – though it depends on the movie. Art, poetry, religious inspirational prose, song – all these expressions of creativity touch the soul in the way a balance sheet or self-help guide cannot. In August, you’ll notice a greater inclination in yourself not so much to indulge in escapism as to allow other energies to shape your thoughts while you get on with life.
January 21-February 19
Social life continues on the upward trend, which is bad news if you’ve committed yourself to a hermitage. Most unlikely! The New Moon in early August ushers in yet another phase when fresh faces to your world enable you to see life afresh through the eyes of the un-jaded and un-bitter. Aquarius is especially sensitive to signs of rot in others – and you can’t abide it, can you? Cynicism, scepticism, endless bitching – all the symptoms of age-related defeat along with the expanded waistline. Not for you. These new contacts are not just for entertainment. Among them are people who could prove most useful financially. Soon.
February 20-March 20
Recent hard work starts to bring benefits in August, financial and reputational. Jupiter’s move direct in chart house of career and life direction is a wonderful moment of ‘lift-off’. Ahead is now the need to consolidate by befriending people on your wavelength, exploring every opportunity to implant your presence in the minds of others. The main thing to be wary of is speaking too frankly with people: the Uranus retrograde from the 12th brings a slightly cranky influence on your thoughts and words: what you want to say may be true and pertinent, but not everything we think is best expressed, especially if your interests are at stake. Perhaps reserve your sly sense of humour for only your besties.
