March 21-April 20
A personal transformation is well underway; but what are you turning into? This is where astrology parts company with your personal story because you decide what to do with what life throws at you. Don’t go blaming me! I’m just the astro-messenger. Your ruler Mars for most of this month is in a chart house that suits you – and around as early as the 6th, there’s good news of a financial nature, or a starting point for something most promising. If it’s not about money it could be to do with any project of an emotional nature where you’ve set your mind on a target. This could be to do with an existing partner or the finding of a new lover. There may even be a mystical element to all this, because in ancient astrology Mars rules the ‘underworld’, so spiritual interests may also be enhanced. From the 26th Mars moves on, and energies turn outward overseas or towards a new environment. There’s no stopping you. Who’d dare?
April 21-May 21
If you’re a typical Bull, social life should be expanding nicely. If not, get cracking. Mars and Jupiter are doing their best to draw you to the right crowd and not losers – though of course we ethical hedonists don’t really speak of ‘losers’ since that’s brutal and unkind. But as a rule you don’t get to your destination without help from fellow-travellers (or at least a driver). In the first week of this month the two planets merge and this could be an exciting starting point for cooperative action, or the finding of someone to perform a vital job on your behalf or a ‘partner’ of any kind. Ruler Venus up to the 18th is in the mood for all sorts of enticing experiments, but after that date you’re focusing a lot harder on career matters or life purpose. Perhaps avoid making hard decisions until next month earliest: sample life’s possibilities on the tongue but do not swallow.
May 22-June 21
2017 certainly tested your tolerance of certain other people, and the truth is this trend still has life in it. You’re still having to deal with the consequences of decisions made to part company or find new company. None of this is necessarily unpleasant, since Gemini is a fast mover and would rather suffer some discomfort for liberation than to endure the endless presence of human black holes who suck you dry of the will to live. Ruler Mercury still opposes your sign until the 13th, but then from the 26th Mars takes over, so there’s still time to sort out disputes between now and mid-March (or to engage in active warfare if that’s your preference). This more robust approach may have something to do with all those celestials in your 8th house, the pit stop where the soul gets a refit following a bout of challenging experience. Look out for the Mars-Jupiter conjunction on the 6th, which has a bearing on the rest of the month: this could signify a work reward, or a big initiative on your part to expand your world of work. Chop, chop.
June 22-July 22
There’s no point pretending all’s wonderful in your world as you feel at times that people are not working with you. Poor poppet! But it’s through lots of negotiation, compromise and listening that useful things can be got done. Your ruler the Moon occasionally finds it hard to remember that the world does not spin around its heartburn, alas! The mind must be employed, sometimes against instinct, in order to placate others, and that’s what January is largely about for you. With the little cunning you possess, you can acquire a lot of what you seek, provided you don’t grow sloppy, slurpy or soggy. Harden up in the ranks! More wonderful news is that this month you can make great progress with a creative project or any activity that showcases your gifts. Romance too is well-starred as are relations with your kids (if you have any). So you see, there are good things awaiting you.
July 23-August 23
Something’s looking exciting in the world of your family. You can’t all be making a move, but a great many Leos this month will be making domestic changes that build on a determination to improve things – this includes anything from relationships to interior décor. At another level, you’re thinking a lot more about personal or family security, building a more solid material foundation, and early January is a good time to make strides, and life throws an opportunity or two at you. This is a hard-working time, what with all those planets in the solar chart house of work and health: Venus helps you get cooperation in work/home situations up to the 18th before attention turns a lot more to the people in your circle and possible fun and frolics. Around mid-month is a good time to tackle any issue about your day-to-day life management, including health and fitness.
August 24-September 22
It’s not like you to be a show-off yet this month affords opportunity to put yourself on display, to what end is hard to say. At the heart of it is whatever gift God/god/Empty Space gave you at birth – the impulse to express it hard cannot be resisted. Helping you out in this endeavour are Mars and Jupiter moving through the solar house of communications: evidently willpower is at maximum as is volubility of voice. If making an impact is necessary to whatever you do in life, then rest assured that cosmic muscle is there to break through barriers. Indeed, by the end of this month, going into February, a lot more people will know about you than when the year started. And with ruler Mercury from the 11th joining all the celestials pushing your passion, I shouldn’t be surprised if you’re not a little unbearable. Good heavens, Virgo. What’s got into you? You’re supposed to be the wallflower of the zodiac!
September 23-October 23
Is the family (or home) proving to be a bit of a headache? Well, that’s what loved ones (or one’s shelter) are all about: yes, headaches. A certain perversity may be a feature of any rift or disagreement, as if you’re left wondering: What’s that all about? Is someone off their rocker? Never mind, there are many good things that should be going a lot more smoothly for you this month, starting with finances. Last month wasn’t bad for you, or not as bad you thought, but January has potential for a great step up if you’re thinking straight: around the 6th, with repercussions for weeks to come, Mars and Jupiter join forces, helping business, new enterprise, income boosts or at very least giving cause for greater optimism in material matters. Happily all this helps stabilise matters at home, enabling you to think on a bigger scale than previously assumed. From the 11th, Mercury helps out with plans/plots to do with home/family, and this is a favourable moment to move things on a bit. We can’t always quickly solve our ‘issues’ with family, but we can make a start.
October 23-November 22
So who’s the pushiest of them all as 2018 commences? That’s right, you Scorpios. Two very dynamic planets, Mars and Jupiter, are in your sign, and on the 6th they merge, indicating that around this time, and for weeks to come, something you’re driving for gets maximum opportunity to take flight, if not already. What could this be? With the two planets in the solar house of the 1st, this will be all about you and any project designed to enlarge your scope, be this at work, socially, in fitness or appearance. Most probably this is not just about finally being rid of the Frida Kahlo-style monobrow. Something rather more important than that, though of course personal image (if styled true to yourself) can help open others’ mental doors and get things done more smoothly, because you look the business. Creative and empathetic work is also well-starred this month, so make the most of the cosmic tide which currently is working with you.
November 23-December 21
Have I been a little hard on poor Saggies of late? If so it’s all because you are in a very curious state of mind, and acting far more unpredictably than usual. I could say this is because perverse Uranus sits in your solar house of personal expression, so that in the cause of independence you are likely to do the oddest things at short notice. On the other hand, Uranus brings a touch of brilliance as potential, so this remains a time when, if you’re connected to reality, you can really make strides. This month just watch that any eccentricity or impulsive action does not cause you financial problems: from the 11th Mercury will help you apply a more analytical approach to money. On another level of sensitivity, a happy link between the current money planets and Neptune, in your solar house of the home/family, enables you to express care and concern through your resources. How these energies play out is up to you. Try to keep your eye on the page and not day-dream your way into a problem.
December 22-January 20
The sense of a new life is palpable. Ruler Saturn is fresh in your sign, getting bedded in for a fairly long stay. In other signs, Saturn is somewhat dreaded because it appears to bring restriction or responsibility. Because you’re built to deal with practicalities as second nature (most of you are, in any case), Saturn’s presence in Capricorn works at its best, still fairly a hard taskmaster but playing to your basic strengths of focus and resilience. Around the 13th an important matter must be decided affecting your personal interests. The most energetic part of your chart boosts social connections, business interests and working to achieve an ideal or cause. Expect this month to see significant growth in your professional or humanitarian networks as you actively seek out the like-minded with whom to work or campaign. You’re becoming a lot noisier now, more determined to set the world to rights. Good luck!
January 21-February 19
You’re playing cards close to your chest, and if this sounds un-Aquarius, you may not realise that in old astrology your ruler is taciturn Saturn, some master of the dark arts when necessary. These days we say Uranus rules your sign, and this planet presides over your communications, words and thoughts – making you somewhat erratic and impulsive in how you handle immediate colleagues and friends. Do we then have a contradiction between Saturn’s message (“Hush sweet child”) and Uranus’s (“I really will scream and scream.”). Not really. You are indeed playing a different game, especially in career matters, and keeping your own counsel, because you see wolves at the door. But inside the room, in your own world, the old you, the curiously inspired you, is speaking very clearly indeed and openly. You are compartmentalising, dividing up different groups of people according to their trustworthiness and use. A big career leap is possible this month. The whole world need not know of it right now. Just the trusted few.
February 20-March 20
Modern ruler Neptune continues to help along your strivings to get better educated, work overseas, take legal action or just break into a new world (any work this can be). Old ruler Jupiter is involved in this because it sits next to pushy Mars in the solar 9th house, the realm of Jupiter. This then is an exciting time, full of potential to break moulds, old habits, boring old ways. So many of you are embarked on what’s called voguishly a “learning curve”, and no one loses if the lessons are learnt. Quite early in January, you make a major push to end an old association or set-up as you work towards a new world, which can be literal or metaphorical. Literally this can involve overseas or education. Finding the right people to work and play with remains a major theme of your chart, but beware unexpected expenses or situations likely to exhaust resources. With so much going on you are advised to keep life as simple as possible, as life is already complicated enough.
