Horoscope by Victor Olliver
March 21-April 20
The start of 2015 finds you in notice-moi mood. And why not? It’s that time of the year for Aries when the world outside your domestic hutch – and what the world thinks of you – feels a lot more important than the soap opera of the home. The two, of course, are linked. Status has a bearing on income and security. So, you’re either in the mood to do what it takes to earn that promotion; or, life throws you an opportunity to show off. This is especially true up to the 20th. With Venus joining Mercury in Pisces on the 27th (to Feb 20), a situation in your life will cause you to further set aside seflie concerns and focus on others (or a special ‘other’). Not all rewards can be weighed and measured. Sexually, you’re more passive than customary as the month progresses. Singletons like to be chased. The partnered may just, er, roll over.
April 21-May 21
No matter your life situation, your concerns are very much on the world outside home and/or your place in the world. You could be seeking a new ‘career’ direction or a new social purpose. And as if to underline this, as soon as the 4th-6th and 23rd, your ruler Venus – followed swiftly by Mercury then Sun, in your career and status house of Aquarius – links favourably with Saturn, in the early stages of the 8th house. These are brief encounters but a sign that whatever you want or have in any public or corporate role progresses only with the cooperation of a partner, close colleague, boss or an institution (such as a bank): this month at least you must take into account someone else’s values, standards or measures. Actually, this is a big theme of 2015. Securing others’ cooperation.
May 22-June 21
For more than half this year approximately, there’s much focus on mind expansion (possibly via study) and social networking as well as media and phone interactions. From August, for about a year, the home environment is a beneficiary of hard work and Jupiter’s good fortune. The challenging area throughout 2015 will be other people and key relationships: Saturn draws you to serious and authority types but also lowers your social temperature. Now there’s premeditation in that charming smile of yours – you’re wondering: ‘Who’s useful to me, who’s yesterday’s cold pizza?’ Certainly, finances will be uppermost in mind for most of January, thanks to Cancer Full Moon on the 5th. An opportunity to make more money could arise. 9th-15th sees your ruler Mercury merged with Aquarius Venus in your solar 9th house, indicating much social activity in a place new to you. It’s as if you’re on a quest.
June 22-July 22
It’s all happening as 2015 starts up. Not only does Sun conjoin Pluto in the early days but there’s a Full Moon in Cancer on the 5th nearly square Uranus: without question, a key relationship (intimate or professional or advisory) is the focus of a power battle; and unpredictability could be its key problem. At simplest, this may see you simply laying down some ground rules at last and defining personal boundaries. At most complex (and this will apply to only a few of you), a relationship is in the balance: Full Moon demands to be heard (i.e. that’s you) and Pluto (you again – or the other in the bond) brooks no further nonsense. So, a torrid yet potentially healthy time: the prize of catharsis can be a sense of renewal – or pure relief. Certainly the cosmos is urging you to speak a lot more forthrightly to people who mean a lot to you – whatever their relationship.
July 23-August 23
9th-15th is an excellent phase in which to repair any key relationships, with Mercury and Venus merged in Aquarius. In social situations you’re more adaptable and diplomatic than usual – particularly after the 12th when quarrelsome Mars exits for Pisces and the solar 8th. 14th-16th could be a frustrating time if seeking progress with a project that means a great deal to you: an authority or partner or bank or financial resources could be a stumbling block. With Mars square Saturn the trick is to tread slowly, not to rage or try to rush. The immediate Leo nature won’t like this. Aquarius New Moon on the 20th, effective over the next two-to-four weeks, is a cosmic hint that tact and social finesse are the way forward now, not brute force. You may find that a new contact at this time can help progress your interests; or, you’re making greater effort to charm and schmooze, even if you secretly would love to hide away.
August 24-September 22
Early January is a busy time requiring much attention to paperwork, work personnel, health possibly – 5th-6th are dates when much can be completed through intense concentration on details. You should feel in your element because close analysis is one of your great natal talents. 8th-15th, when Mercury and Venus merge in Virgo’s traditional house, is a fantastic time to appreciate beauty and visit places of pleasure. But also life may bring a chance to appease fractious others (in the work area especially) – you’re more inclined to bend over backwards in favour of cooperation. Aquarius New Moon on the 20th rather confirms the above in the following way, for the month ahead: knuckle down to the nitty-gritty of work and sort out any bureaucratic or tedious hiccups that if left unattended can hobble smooth progress of day. Diet and exercise regimes started in this phase stand a better chance of completion.
September 23-October 23
A generally happy start to 2015 – but what does Libra’s solar chart say about life broadly at this time? An abundance of activity in the home and family area could be keeping eye off career or worldly objectives in January. Socially you’re in a rangy, adventurous mood – groups, ethical/political/business campaigns are blessed under Jupiter; and the making of money should be easier. At the same time you’re more critical of people close to you – colleagues, neighbours, relatives especially – but finding the ‘right’ group of people is recognised as the way to make progress. Many of you could be studying, no matter your age. Special relationships could be subject to volatility, sudden changes; unforeseen matches and dispatches. The home and family – or one’s roots – remain the most powerful life area, the pivot of any major change or transformation in life.
October 23-November 22
In career and status matters the general trend is positive under Jupiter’s reign – planet of expansion. This doesn’t mean all of you are rising like a NASA rocket: but things being equal, a situation (to come if not already) enables growth. Jupiter’s in Saturn’s old house till August in Leo, identifying one’s life objective as well-favoured. But even when it passes into Virgo, career potential is still blessed for another year into 2016.
Saturn is imposing greater financial rigour – extravagance is most unwelcome. If there’s volatility in your life it’s in your day-to-day routines or health or relationships with colleagues – sometimes you don’t know where you are or how you feel. Creative and passionate or romantic interests are on a potential high under Neptune – compensation perhaps for all the hard work in realising career and financial dreams.
November 23-December 21
Money is a focal point at the start of the year. As early as 3rd-4th you’re putting your foot down over a cash or assets question – and a clash is possible. 8th-15th a lighter mood prevails. Contacts and communications are a lot more pacific and constructive – you’re keen to smooth feathers and avoid disputes, as Mercury and Venus conjoin. Relations with neighbours could improve, too, if the garden fence (or whatever) has been a source of rancour. A Mars/Neptune conjunction 19th-20th suggests tension in the home/family area of life – this could be over quite mundane matters, such as a household problem or the repair-person fails to turn up at the appointed time. If however you’re ministering to someone who’s poorly or unhappy, your efforts will be appreciated. From the 20th, for the next month, general business and buzziness increases with Sun in the solar 3rd house – lots of emails, texts and other distractions to deal with.
December 22-January 20
January opens very positively with Sun in Capricorn (since December 21, 2014). Your natal virtues are much more on show to your advantage: your industriousness, sharp dark humour, ambition, a surprising earthiness, rigour and practicality. Not so edifying can be greed and disdain in less evolved goats. Pluto in Capricorn underscores the above: the huge transformation that’s underway in you, addressing unhelpful or redundant primal responses. The projection of positive energy draws appropriate opportunity to you. Cancer Full Moon on the 5th compels you this month to be extra careful in your treatment of a partner (marital or business), adviser or close friend – it’s time to listen and compromise. 9th-15th is a favourable phase to discuss a business or cash-related deal as Mercury and Venus conjoin in your solar 2nd house. This could also be an extravagant time. From the 21st, when Mercury reverses, take extra care in all money negotiations for three weeks.
January 21-February 19
As we step into the New Year, Jupiter in Leo in 7th house (since last July) tells me of the development of a new special relationship (intimate or business) or contractual bond – already in your life or to come up to August 2015. ‘Partnerships’ of any kind (and this includes consultative connections with, say, lawyers or accountants) generally are key to progress in this phase – and any job that depends on public approval or direct contact with a ‘public’ is likely to be blooming. Negotiation, diplomacy and cooperation play a much bigger role in your life, which for frank Aquarius is not always the natural way of doing things. In essence, you’re applying a stricter test to people are strategies in deciding what’s useful. Co-ruler Uranus in Aries transits yet another social house (3rd) – to others you are at your most creative and volatile. The Aquarian life theme right now is cultivation of right relationships to progress projects.
February 20-March 20
Many Pisceans will be finding the work area somewhat foggy because co-ruler Neptune is in on/off challenging aspects to both Jupiter and Saturn for a while. This however can be a positive, because extra effort builds moral sinew and steers you to focus on what’s do-able not fantasy. Cancer Full Moon on the 5th, effective for about a fortnight, is a wonderful start to the year – a cosmic green light to enjoy yourself (through a sport or hobby or relationship, for instance) or finish a project that means a great deal to you or hang out more with the kids, if any. Socially you’re in lively mode with Sun transiting solar 11th house which oversees networking and/or political/humanitarian campaigning and/or maximising the profit potential from work/business. The theme of this Sun (to 20th) is reaching out to the like-minded for support, or to give support. Focus on the giving side of your nature or on spiritual or artistic energies.
