March 2017

 Aries

Aries

March 21-April 20

You lived up to your Ram reputation in February – all that pushing and shoving. So unseemly! Yet, if Mother Nature wanted you to be just a docile ruminant, why give you curled horns for butting? All this Ram(bo) stuff is actually about dreams and the distance between them and what life is right now. The wider the gulf, the more you’re butting the foe and dullards. Early March remains an excellent time to take practical, bold steps to move yourself to another plain with minimal theatrics, if not literally then certainly in preparation. On the 10th, ruler Mars moves into Taurus and this shifts your attention to finances. By the 27th, you will have found a more sophisticated way to fill your trove – the answer perhaps lies less in pushing and more in harnessing something in yourself which wins you the day, without risk of bruising. Meantime, Venus remains in Aries – in the bedroom and the boardroom, you’re steaming nicely like a microwave lavender wheatbag. This heats up interest professionally and/or intimately, particularly towards the end of March

Taurus

Taurus

April 21-May 21

If you’ve seen/read Dangerous Liaisons, then think of it in relation to your life right now. OK, perhaps you’re not whispering mischief behind a fluttering fan to a rouged roué. Yet at some level, you’re engaged in some secretive activity – perhaps to do with your love life, possibly to do with money. Or, you’re plotting a lifestyle re-launch (e.g. glamourising one’s nesting habits is so 2017: ‘homebodism’ is preferred to going out at night – Google it!). Something is undercover, or under the covers (or bed sheets). Why are you being so furtive? Whatever it is stays awhile in the shadows thanks to ruler Venus’ long pathway through Aries, in the most covert part of the horoscope chart, the 12th house. Not until June does the ‘secret’ emerge – though watch March 25th for risks of ‘exposure’ as the sun passes over Venus. From March 10th, Mars in your sign adds push to personality, though even then you’re advised to seek cooperation from others or group efforts. Around the 27th, a gang of like-minds could be the means to an end.

Gemini

Gemini

May 22-June 21

It’s all career with you right now. Or if not career, your reputation. Or if not that, mixing with the ‘right’ crowd. It has suddenly occurred to you that perhaps it’s time to give a lot more thought to how to get ahead without being too obvious about it. Which is hard for Gemini because you have this habit of confiding in anyone who’s prepared to listen or signalling your intent by posting not-so-cryptic clues on Facebook or Instagram. You are the living embodiment of obviousness! We all know you’re on the make, Gemini! But look, I’m not here to embarrass you. Let me help and guide you. To the 13th, do try subtlety. Be helpful to your superiors and colleagues but don’t tell them you’re being helpful. Just be helpful. Intuit their needs and provide without telling them that you’re providing. This is the way. But from the 13th, a new-old approach is OK. Obviousness! Unleash the hounds of ambition! You want so-and-so to give you more? Ask! No, demand! Will you get what you want? I have no idea. But March 26th looks interesting. On that day ruler Mercury and Uranus merge. What a day to stir up your world for personal benefit. Oh wow. It could go well. Don’t go too crazy. But speak plainly. Yes, be yourself now – obvious.

Cancer

Cancer

June 22-July 22

It’s a wonder you don’t scream at times. With Jupiter and Uranus opposing each other, and Uranus teased by pushy Mars (in early March), the likelihood is that home and career interests are not dancing too well together. Or you’re quite determined to break something either at work or at home. Hopefully not heads. In actuality, all you need do is address each frustrating matter one at a time and not seek the grand solution. There isn’t one. The best advice is to focus on the job in hand, make the most of the task. Do a good job. And leave other tensions or frustrations to sort themselves out. Venus will help out here because she’s in that part of your horoscope where socialising, putting out your best face, aiming to please and charming people’s pants off will make you feel better. If you can encourage others to take part in team-building exercises and role-play, even better. You see, on the quiet you’re more in charge than you realise. You can effect change. At work. And at home.

Leo

Leo

July 23-August 23

What you desire more than anything is a break. Not just a break, but a holiday. And not just a boring Benidorm-type holiday, but an ‘experience’ to remember, preferably 10,000 miles away with no city grid in sight. If any of this is resonating, blame Venus which is stirring up your dreams, your spirit of adventure, your need to get away, something rotten. And Venus will continue to do this till about early-June so you’ve plenty of time to import exotica into your life. I could suggest you haul yourself off to the Seychelles to watch turtles hatching. Or learn the way of the Ninja in Japan. But whatever it is that will take you away from your present and refresh your soul – take steps to do it. Venus in Aries emboldens you, encourages you to make new starts – even if only brief ones. And if you stay at home, you’ll be seeking out the novelty or the eccentric in your midst – or they may come calling. So you’ve been warned. It’s as if you want (and life wants you) to stretch personal boundaries and experiment with life. Well, you’re reading this. That’s a start.

Virgo

Virgo

August 24-September 22

The Venus retrograde in your chart brings love or money to the surface. Probably both. If love or money is not in abundance right now, then Venus aims to improve that situation, though there’s no guarantee of delivery right this minute. Venus works by warming up the connections between people and alerting us to the unproductive cool bits. And this month, until June, Venus is travelling in the chart house that rules shared or partnership resources, borrowings, intimacy and even mystical experiences. And because Venus is moving backwards from March 4th until 15th April, this is a time when a deeper analysis of shared finances or feelings raises the likelihood of identifying the reasons why things are working well – or not. Passions may heat up in this process – and good luck if this is reciprocal. If not (perhaps because the partner spot is marked ‘empty’ or ‘semi-detached’ or just ‘er…’), then Venus will do her best to help you understand why this is the case. Do not fear the answers. Treat these as starting points to life solutions. The 11th and 20th of March could be days when an intimate or financial clue to improvement presents itself. And here’s a thought: Venus offers another chance to get things right financially or emotionally in May when she’s moving forward again.

Libra

September 23-October 23

You can get an app for just about anything – even to find new friends. Well, whatever. Libra is seeking new friends, new allies and experts: if your face is fresh (to the Libran) you might just about qualify. This really is a ‘lucky’ time for Libra, with Jupiter swanning through the sign until October. But that’s not to say you’re feeling lucky. If you’ve concluded that you’re held down by certain people close to you, hemmed in by familiarity, you may already have failed to stifle yawns in company. Tsk! The Jupiter-Uranus opposition (very intense at the start of March) will be exciting your social taste buds, impelling you into new situations and perhaps adding boldness to your party-going and how-do-you-dos. Around the days either side of March 20th could bring raunch to the ranch; or something ‘most fascinating’ in someone new. Carry on with the fresh blood quest, you veggie Dracula. With Venus in your house of ‘others’ till June, enjoy the people-hopping as you cherry-pick for a new, supporting team.

Scorpio

October 23-November 22

Can a mouse be mindful? That’s the opening sentence in a science report on meditation. Apparently, an anxious rodent was relaxed by inducing it to let go and not worry about cats, or something. The point being: if the mouse can do it, so can you. It won’t be easy, not with Mars this month zipping over a sensitive point in your chart which could bring you into eyeballing situations if you’re not careful. But all that can be avoided if you think of our mouse of mindfulness. At one extreme, you could follow the example of the vacationing wealthy and get yourself massaged by elephants or snakes as you detach from the present. At the other, try swimming in hot wine. But why go to any extreme? The Jupiter-Uranus opposition is prompting your mind and soul to contemplate new ways to look at life situations so that transformation occurs through fresh perspective. If this sounds daft, then may be stick to chamomile tea for now. Astrologically, the answer is suggested by your Venus which is urging you simply to do good, to think of ways of helping others in your world – or perhaps indulging in a bit of volunteerism. Just being kind will de-stress you. Promise.

Sagittarius

Sagitarius

November 23-December 21

The major theme of your chart at this time is spontaneity. To what extent do you feel free to respond honestly in the moment, rather like a child. The more burdened with maturity that you are, the less spontaneous you may be – but there can a hundred reasons why we hold back. Some of them sound, grown-up reasons, so don’t get me wrong. What we’re talking about here is creative expression, sexual adventure, life’s sudden opportunities – those triggers capable of eliciting a response that you were born to give. Early March is likely to see you in quite unpredictable mode: goodness knows how you will deal with such temptations as: 1. A sudden attraction to someone who is not your partner; 2. A sudden thought that someone in your life is holding you down; 3. An invitation to dance/sing/knit; 4. The rediscovery of an unpublished novel you wrote years ago – now you see what must be done to make it right. This is the sort of thing I’m talking about. March holds many such unexpected tantalisers because life is trying to help you rediscover your heart’s delight and place it back centre stage.

Capricorn

Capricorn

December 22-January 20

Trust me, the domestic situation is evolving very nicely, thank you. These necessary changes are a lot to do with you as ruler Saturn very slowly insists that you are given more personal space to perform important worldly tasks. You’ll understand this better by December 2017 when Saturn strengthens as it moves into Capricorn. Right now and in the months ahead, the slow pace gives you time to sort out baggage, inhibitions and ghastly sneaks who masquerade as your friends (but don’t get paranoid). Take a simple, cost-effective tip from me: get yourself onto milk thistle and dandelion tea. Its amazing properties cleanse the system, helping you to think a lot more clearly. Physical optimisation will help you, mind and body. If at times this month you feel somewhat thwarted or restrained by people or circumstances, take heart that by the 29th – when Mercury makes a useful link to Saturn – energies will be flowing a lot easier in your favour, and helping you to plan those home changes in progress.

Aquarius

Aquarius

January 21-February 19

Aquarians are often dismissed as weird or peculiar, and in March you are living up to your reputation, big time. Is this a bad thing? No, not in the least. Ruler Uranus is being hyped up by that great big gas planet Jupiter, so you know (by Jove!) who to blame if you start wearing peacock feather hats at breakfast, papal robes to shop at Asda or Cleopatra-style eyeliner to greet the visiting gas meter person (usually a middle-aged man with nose and ear tufts and a grudge against his employer). What won’t you do this month in the name of individualism? When not reminiscing about your glorious past, you could be writing the craziest letters to Donald Trump (“Oh Melania, lookee here!”) or planning a Morocco surf and yoga trip, topless a la Putin. This last thought takes us to what’s really going on. You’re thinking beyond the daily grind. More especially, you’re wondering: What do I have to do to get myself over the rainbow? When brainy Mercury meets rainbow-maker Uranus on the 26th, it is entirely possible that you will happen upon the seeds of an answer. Let me know.

Pisces

Pisces

February 20-March 20

Quite a yummy month when all sorts of lovely things are falling into place without too much effort on your part. This is mainly because your co-ruler Neptune is the planetary Clapham Junction with all sorts of celestials passing through and blending lovely energies with your creative or spiritual tendencies. On the 4th, there’s Mercury merging with Nep, boosting your intuition and insights; also helping to magnify to the world precisely what you’re about. Pisces is an ‘old’ sign, your soul has been around, so it takes a while for some people to get that you don’t approach life and work is any ordinary or obvious way. Mercury will help enlighten you – and others about you. Then the sun itself marries Nep for a day on the 6th – which is a bit like having the spotlight on you with a sign, “Come and get me”. A great day for self-advertising and drawing attention with minimal risks. Then Mars is touching Nep is a very appropriate way throughout the month, adding attractive nuance to your communications and selling the idea of you as a very alert charmer with alluring hidden sides. If you want this silver lining to have a cloud, then watch your spending or falling for any get-rich-quick scams. Early March could be needlessly expensive if you’ve not read this horoscope first.
