It is a truth universally acknowledged, that sassy, bookish, organic gals do like their slow fashion to reflect their  greatest passions in life. Thus, our hearts skipped a beat at EH HQ when our eyes alighted on this super cute organic, fair-trade People Tree mini dress, with an arresting print of wise little owls, ruched detailing at the waist and delicate, moderately puffed sleeves. The dress is available in teal and the kind of yellow to make you dream of a summer’s day in winter. The People tree owl mini dress ticks all the boxes on our slow luxury fashion wish list. Organic cotton tick; fair-trade tick; artisan tick; super cute tick tick. Team the dress with a fascinating hat made from up cycled fabric couture offcuts by Henummi, and sublime, handmade shoes by Chie Michara, an artisan shoe atelier in Spain. Perfect for the discerning metro goddess about town.

We Adore Wise Owls and Slow Food Pubs!

Our editor-in-chief, adores owls. She has used quite a few in her iconic fashion stories. Here she model’s the People Tree owl print dress at The Taverners’ Pub, in Godshill on the Isle of Wight. The Taverners’ is a stupendous slow food pub, that celebrates local food in season from the farmer, fisherman and hunter gatherer. It’s a great Ethical Hedonist favourite. The Taverners’ is the kind of place that makes you feel good about life. It’s wonderfully cosy, and we always want to eat everything on the menu. Head chef Roger Sergent transforms local and foraged foodie delights into delicious, tasty, vibrant, comfort food inspired by his travels from Sydney to Saigon. We can particularly recommend the very dark chocolate and salted caramel pudding and the Luscombe organic, raspberry crush bubbles! Just make sure you share a slice with someone you like, as it’s rather generous and we do want to still fit into our Ethical Hedonist wardrobe!
