Wandering Troubadour Rescues Cat from Canal!
So, it was a dreamy summer’s day, with golden light on the sleepy, London waterways….. and I was right in the middle of doing a tales from the riverbank interview with wandering troubadour, folk singer, and off the grid canal boat enthusiast, Steve Folk, when his cat, Charlotte suddenly fell into the canal! Or did she jump in to liven up the interview? Splash!
What a Hero!
As we rushed to see if she could swim, we could hear Charlotte struggling in the water, and there was a real danger she could drown at any moment. But not on Steve’s watch. Charlotte is Steve’s beloved companion on the canals of London. Our hero gallantly jumped straight into the canal, right in the middle of the interview, and swam after Charlotte to rescue her, and lift her onto the towpath.
Cat Fine, Folk Singer All Shook Up!
As you can see, Charlotte quickly recovered from her dip in the drink in a London canal, but Steve was drenched, and was all shook up, and in need of a strong cup of tea and a change of clothes, before he was back singing magical, pied piper songs, of urban life versus the lure of the countryside and the farm, he will probably never have.
Have I told you how wonderful Steve’s music is? He’s the new Donovan. Weaving songs that are candid, wistful and shot through with melancholy, charm and gallows humour.
