Great reportage photography is exciting to see and has a timeless drama. Composition, quick-fire creativity and juxtaposition is all. Photographer Alexandria Warren Hall, brilliantly captures all the action for EH Mag Social at the Oceana Fashioning the Future evening at Phillips on Berkeley Square. Here Pixie Geldof is captured talking about her passion for the sea, how it renews her, and what we can do to protect it. In the background is her best friend, DJ Nick Grimshaw, and ringmaster for a inspired night of ‘how do they do that?’ fashion innovation and conservation. Nick is talking to our editor-in-chief, Alison Jane Reid.
Pixie Geldof is a Passionate Supporter of Oceana and Marine Conservation
The intense colours of Pixie Geldof’s Beautiful Soul, sustainable poppy dress, lend her the air of a Burne Jones muse. Of course, the real icon of the night is the charismatic, life-like charcoal drawing of a Hammerhead Shark by artist Sonia Shomalzadeh. Now who wouldn’t prefer to see this extraordinary, and seriously endangered, Alice-in-Wonderland creature happily thrive in its watery playground, rather than having its fins cut off for a dinner table delicacy?
Alexandria Warren Hall’s image takes on a witty cartoon, 3D effect, with the second conversation deliberately placed out of focus – while the hammerhead shark looks as if he might dive between guests at any moment!
