Simeon Farrar Stirs Up a Fashion Revolution with People Tree

Simeon Farrar is an EH Magazine fashion shooting star. Our founder and editor, Alison Jane lives in her stellar, star cape, snapped up from his mainline collection at Young British Designers.  Known for his sublime craftsmanship, flawlessly coupled with funky design and extrovert charisma, Simeon’s pieces are the perfect dressing up wardrobe for the confident modern maven.  The fine-artist turned designer has a distinctive  flair for clashing street style with unexpected luxury from sequins to fringing and the use of silky organic textiles.  The result? The perfect capsule wardrobe where utility and practicality meets fashion as social comment and theatre.  Be it a ravishing faux fur trim cape, sassy slogan tee or bewitchingly pretty printed scarf, each beguiling garment  exudes star quality.

So you can imagine our excitement to discover that ethically precious, fashion conscious trailblazers PeopleTree, who boast Emma Watson, Orla Kiely and Zandra Rhodes among their past and current A list collaborators, have teamed up once again with the super hot, Black Score founder Simeon Farrar, to produce a capsule collection that promises to be nothing less than spirited!

London-based designer Simeon perfectly exemplifies the notion of ‘wearable art’; his background as a fine artist – graduating in 1997 – is seamlessly manifested in bold, utility luxe designs.  With a self-proclaimed ‘post-skate’ style – for the grown-up skater boy  ( or gal), he has designed a range of quirky slogan tees and sweatshirts aimed at both male and female politically minded fashionistas.

With slogans such as ‘Go Love Yourself’ (a mischievous play on the ruder alternative) and illustrations of animals in underpants, it’s clear that Mr. Farrar did his designing with his tongue firmly in his cheek. The result is a hypnotic, iconic collection that begs to be be adopted and treasured.

Collection highlights include the aforementioned ‘Go Love Yourself’ Tee – just the thing to throw on and instantly feel confident, poised and ready to take on the world.
For the rock chicks amongst us, the ‘Your Silver Glitter Soul’ T-shirt Mini Dress not only  suggests off-duty sexy but is also one hell of a bargain at just £18.00! Throw it on with biker boots and a leather jacket for a simple, statement daytime look, or make like the ultimate glamour feline and pair it with fluffy kitten-heel slippers to wear to bed.

Other favourites are the title slogan tee ‘The Revolution Will Not Be Accessorized’ and a sassy, Americana inspired red fringed, cropped tee donning the phrase ‘My Heart Goes Bloom’ – preciously cute, perfect for dancing, and a steal at just £11.00!

Our original Emerald Princess AJ is already a fan of Simeon Farrar’s arty masterpieces; pictured below stylishly wrapped-up in the glamorously voguish Star Cape, she states her admiration for Farrar’s ‘effortless ability to clash street fashion and high octane allure… slogans with glitter. ‘My star cape is a perfect example. I can throw on over jeans or leggings and it gives me an invincible cloak of glamour. I love his slogan tees and sweatshirts – the perfect example of fashion revolution chic.’

AJ’s Star Cape makes her feel instantly like a film icon; this heirloom piece has the ability to eradicate a bad mood and put an instant spring of happiness in the lucky owner’s step – a common characteristic amongst Farrar’s designs.

Produced by Assisi Garments in South India, providing training and employment for deaf, mute and economically disadvantaged women, Simeon Farrah for PeopleTree ‘The Revolution Will Not Be Accessorised’ is not only red-hot but also the flawless embodiment of ‘Fashion with Heart’. And we heart it.
