I absolutely love being a journalist and crafting insightful, fascinating interviews on icons and national treasures, that live on in the collective memory. It is a career I first embarked on when I was 24 years old, and fresh out of university. It is a life like no other, with a front seat on the window of culture,  and I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Up to this point, I have given you many, many hours of thought-provoking, inspiring journalism for free. Now I would like to ask you support me and donate the price of a good cup of coffee once a month to help secure the future of my beautiful, independent magazine and help me to fly and flourish. Or you can donate any amount you like, from as little as £1 for an article that you have enjoyed or found inspiring and informative. I am very proud to be a  journalist and hope you will support me. You can also help by crowd funding new interview and fashion features projects, which start with the Eleanor Tomlinson Interview. As I expand and develop the magazine, there are many other ways you can help and support me, and help EH to grow, and bring you more amazing interviews and features to inspire you on-  icons, fashion, food, culture, travel, health and beauty and more!  Visit the Homepage to make a donation.

In recent years, journalism has weathered an extraordinary period of change, upheaval and revolution as the age of digital media devalued the importance of great writing, and the Levenson Enquiry also cast its long shadow over journalism as an honourable profession. This of course, has little do with the majority of hardworking, talented journalists – feature writers, columnists and correspondents who go about their work with passion, integrity, honesty and a rare and precious ability to make words fly off the page, so that the reader is changed by the experience of reading a wonderful review of a play or a profile piece on a favourite actor, sporting hero or remarkable trailblazer. Or for exposing great injustice,  risking one’s life to cover wars, or exposing the people or companies that do not give a damn about humanity or our extraordinary planet and its magical biodiversity.

I’ve had a lot of success as a journalist, but my interview with the actor Colin Morgan was something really special.  Colin and I had a shared  passion and commitment for environmental issues, and really got on well, and I was able to reveal his inspiring, remarkable journey from Armagh, to Belfast, The Scottish Conservatoire, and then winning the starring role in the global hit BBC television series Merlin. Colin is now in the midst of a golden age as one of the most exciting actors in a generation, for his work in Merlin, The Tempest, Quirke and Mojo . This is what I do.  I love to spend hours crafting features for millions of people to enjoy and I would like to ask for your help, so that I can continue to do this online, for many years to come.

I have had an amazing career as a print journalist, writing on icons, fashion and culture for The Times Magazine, Country Life, The Lady, You, The Mail On Sunday, Red, Coast and The Illustrated London News. Now the internet age has changed everything, and I am now reinventing myself online, with my own magazine, Ethical Hedonist, so that I can become inspiringly independent and The Emerald Princess of Brilliantly Independent Journalism.
