Organic Apple and Blackberry Bake –
One of the culinary highlights of autumn and early winter is to go in search of our wonderful old English apple varieties. Nothing compares to biting into a crisp, juicy apple that doesn’t have that disappointing woody taste of nothing at all! Neal’s Yard cheese shop in Covent Garden is my top tip for discovering our extraordinary apple heritage. Eating a delicious apple is one of life’s great, simple pleasures. Eat them or loose them forever. It’s that simple.
I am lucky to be able to find gems such as Bleinheim Orange, Sir John Thornycroft and Isle of Wight Pippin.
If you picked and froze blackberries from your autumn rambles, even better!
