The Ethical Hedonist is seriously tempted to cancel all plans for lounging on the sofa, hibernating with the feline, and scoffing far too much organic chocolate this weekend. Instead, I am cleverly contemplating booking into the Bingham Hotel in Richmond for a serene autumn retreat. My idea of the perfect Sunday focused on intelligent transformation and rejuvenation which has nothing to do with extreme fads or creating unrealistic expectations.
You will remember that the Bingham seriously impressed me last year, when I went there for a rather wonderful birthday lunch. It’s all about you at the Bingham retreat this Sunday. Dr Caroline Longmore, a medical doctor, herbalist and naturopath will be leading the day which is all about transforming your life through mindfulness, yoga and food as medicine for the mind and body. The day includes yoga practice with: Tina Abbey, a Sivananda yoga teacher and Peggy O’Hare who will lead a meditation practice. Each practitoner is a leading expert in their field with years of study and teaching experience.
I learnt TM Meditation two and half years ago, and I can tell you that it has transformed my life. It is wonderful for the creative mind, and helps me to reach for the stars with Ethical Hedonist.
A bit more about the Bingham. The Bingham, is a small, privately owned hotel, where attention to detail and sustainability are just part of the experience. The hotel has a wonderful new chef, Mark Jarvis, and the hotel goes out of its way to champion talented local, organic and sustainable producers. The hotel recently took delivery of some new bicycles, so guests can go pootling beside the Thames; English weather permitting.
If you decide to go, tell the Bingham that the Ethical Hedonist sent you! Have a wonderful time. Alison Jane.
