Want to know a secret? Here’s an event you won’t see advertised. Aneke Spacie has cooked at some starry places including The Ivy, Emporio Armani, The Sotheby’s Cafe and was Mohammed Fayed’s personal chef on his Mediterranean Yacht.
Now she has just relocated to the Island with her young family and is planning some pop up feasts at Languard Manor, near Shanklin, from October until Christmas. The menu will comprise seven courses and, here’s the best bit, you won’t know what you are going to eat until you sit down at the big round table with your fellow guests.
I caught up with Aneke for tea and she told me that that she loves to subvert classical recipes by giving them a ‘twist and making them look exquisite and extraordinary’. All the ingredients will be coming from her favourite local producers: Godshill Organics and Farmer Jacks, oh and anything she can forage too!
But hurry if you don’t want to be left out, as places are limited.
