Afternoon Tea  to Make You Feel Beautiful at Bam-Bou

Discovering a special new place for afternoon tea is a pleasure to be shared.  Bam-Bou, the acclaimed South East Asian restaurant in hidden, arty Fitzrovia is my exciting new destination for a teatime experience that will instantly transport you to the world of Michael Caine in the Quiet American. Bam-Bou first has been open for a decade, yet this intimate, French Colonial style townhouse restaurant still feels like a secret haven. A place to linger and savour the intense and surprising flavours of Vietnam, China and Thailand.

From next week until the end of September – Bam-Bou elevates the teatime ritual to enticing new heights with Tea-Tox – the opportunity to try rare and delicate tea infusions from the great tea houses of Asia, that not only taste exquisite, but also come packed with a plethora of vibrant health benefits.

My tea of choice?  – Wonderfully aromatic Jasmine Green Tea Pearls. The health giving properties of green tea has been much lauded, but this tea takes them to dazzling new heights and the taste is complex, refreshing and will leave you wanting more.  Green Lu Cha leaves are scented with jasmine, and then hand rolled into silvery pearls. Even better, they are packed with anti-oxidants, and are said to aid digestion, promote weight loss, anti-ageing and leave skin glowing. Or try the Damask Rose Tea Buds from Fijian province. Delicate, light and perfumed; His Majesty pronounced this rose tea the finest he has ever tasted.

Now, when has taking tea ever felt so seductive and guilt free?! I might add that this is a wonderful place for a special date or romantic tryst.

Beauty Tip – The lovely tea sommelier suggests that you strain any remaining rose tea liquid, let cool, keep it in the fridge, and use as a face toner and spritz.

Tea-Tox from 3pm – 5pm from August 15th to 30th September at Bam- Bou, 1, Percy Street, London W1T 1DB for Bookings Tel 0207 7323 9130, www.bam-bou.co.uk

Tea-Tox Offer £12.95 for a choice of tea which can be refilled and selection of three healthy Khong Wan Small sweet plates.
