The General Election this week is the closest contest in more than a generation. Every vote will be important in deciding the future of our country; but only a vote for one of the major parties will count.
The Economy is not normally subject discussed by the Ethical-Hedonist, even though it is matter that affects each of us, every day. We believe that only one party offers a credible route out of the economic mess in which Britain has been left as a direct result of Gordon Brown’s thirteen years of economic mismanagement as Chancellor, and as Prime Minister: That party is the Conservative Party.
The Conservatives are also the natural party of conservation and of the countryside, with a real understanding of the land and how it works; not just as a place of leisure and recreation, but as the green lungs and larder of our country. We had a higher level of food sufficiency in this country during Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative government in the 1980s that at any time during the modern age, either before – including the Second World War, or since.
We believe that David Cameron has a genuine and sincere desire to see small green businesses flourish, whether farm shop or fashion house, and that allowing these business to thrive and grow will contribute to Britain becoming a greener and more sustainable country.
We will be voting Conservative on Thursday, May 6th. We urge our website’s 50,000 visitors to do so too.
