It seems impossible that the insouciant face of 1966 and the first real super model has just celebrated her 60th Birthday.
Go and see her as an iconic fashion muse and mother at The National Portrait Gallery (NPG) with a celebration of her life in pictures. You can also catch the portrait I styled and art directed of her in 2001 for Hello! The image was shot by one of my favourite photographers Mike Owen, in a fluttering, jewelled black veil at Claridges.
Twiggy was a fascinating subject to interview and style. Forever young, playful, completely open about her life, and a devoted wife and mother to Lee and daughter Carly, and a role model to all the models who came after her.
Twiggy – A Life in Pictures at The National Portrait Gallery until March 21st 2010.
Free Admission. Open Daily:10am -6pm, Thursday and Friday until 9pm.
